Giddy Up!

So, newborn baby is starting to not be so much a newborn! We sold our Bumgenius XS and Lil Joey all in ones and also destashed all of our good.mama newborns. Next on the chopping block were the Sbish Mini Snapless. I just pulled the Tots Bots Tiny Fits and some wahm all in ones that I had made for a destash sale.

Whew.

I bet that sounds like we don't have much left huh? Well, you're right! I had to buy another Applecheeks cover, a couple Tots Bots easy fits, and pulled some BG 4.0's from his sister's stash to use for him during the night.

Oh yeah, we also outgrew our xs Sbish wool! So I've been working on knitting some woolies up for him in the meantime until he can fit into his small longies.

Aching for some newb diaper shots? Here is from just this morning. I paired a Happy Heinys mini (on the second snap down) with some matching baby legs. Can you say GIDDY UP!? <3

Sbish Minis and Wool Cover

I wanted to make a separate post about the Sbish snapless minis and their wool covers. I have long been a fan of Sbish wool, it's the nicest machine knit wool that I've found on the market. It really cannot be beat. I tried some of their snapless os with my toddler and was impressed with the squishiness and durability so of course I wanted to try the minis when they came out. I scored a great deal on a 2 pack on Spots Corner.

The wool covers really held up well. The only thing that I found was that it tends to be a bit snug over fitteds. I think the small would work better when he gets a little bit more filled out in the thighs. A friend suggest xs shorties might work better. :o)

Here is the snapless mini (and my first pin job ever!) D218F01E-AB2C-4E1E-95D9-AC82DC9C768C-1777-000000C80326F2EF

Some OTB Pictures

I wanted to share some general cuteness from the last couple of chaotic weeks. It sure has been nuts here with 4 kids under the age of 6!

This is one of the fitteds I made. It has a minky giraffe outer and a soft cotton velour inner. It fit him great for the first week or so but he is too big now!

This is a good.mama fitted - Rainbow Noir. Fits him great even now. I notice the brand new knit fitteds I have are some of the roomiest of the gms.

Here is a cover that I made. It is SO cute. I made several of these in various sizes while playing around with foe. I was really impressed by how well this fit him. 8978C1E2-06FF-4F2C-A93E-080E32AC7F79-1777-000000C83B424F7C

Newb!

It's been a busy week here in our house as we welcomed our new babe! I have a bazillion photos to add but I thought I would share one that we just did this morning with our toddler and him. They are wearing a one size and newborn goodmama. <3

He was born last Saturday and weighed 8lbs 4oz and was just shy of 20" long. He fits in most of his diapers really well! I was especially shocked to see how many he wouldn't be wearing long despite his chicken legs. He has a really long rise!

Ragababe

I'm sure most that know a lot about cloth diapers have heard of Ragababe's. They are a really great wahm made diaper that has a LOT of buzz around it. When they first came out I had a friend who was really into them and she let me try one of her all in ones and one of the all in twos. I didn't really like either but the fit of the ai2 was extremely awkward on my teeny little lady. I did like the all in one but I was way too involved in the land of fitteds to get overly excited.

But now. I'm so in love that I'm stalking the stocking's every week. I've amassed quite the collection in the last few months! About a week ago Joy (Queen Ragababe) did an inventory close out of all her extras and her seconds. I snagged three different small diapers! My almost 2 year old can still fit in smalls but I also got them for the newbie. We have a couple of the newborn size diapers but I don't think they'll fit long since I have an inkling baby will be a smidge chunky. Either way, new baby will have a stack of gorgeous new smalls to wear when the time comes.

Here is the official Ragababe site: http://www.ragababe.com - The most favourite print that I own is probably a tie between two of the new ones, watercolour and fireworks. My most favourite (coveted *cough*) print that I do not own would likely be pink leopard or pinwheel. If I hadn't snagged TWO of the star candy I'd probably say that one. It's so gorgeous, and I don't usually like prints with a white background!

I will share a ragastash shot in the next couple days. :D

Dream it to be AIO's!

I did a trade last week that resulted in some amazing gender neutral all in ones. This mama is amazing. These are pul outer with a solid sewn in core and microfleece inners. They are squishy and I can already tell that they are going to be a fav. Let me also say that I had told her I was a big David and Goliath fabric fan and that she made me two FREE wipes out of some adorable D&G prints. Endless love for this lady, seriously! These are "Dream it to Be's". As soon as I get a link to her shop I'll post it here so we can send some traffic her way. :) *EDITED: www.facebook.com/dreamittobe Photobucket

Tie Dying Fun Pt. 2

So I finally dug out the pictures from the finished tie dying project! The prefolds didn't turn out as awesome as hoped - they are thick and difficult to spin dye. I admire those who have gotten better results! Oh well, they will still make great diapers. :D The big piece of fabric that I dyed turned out fantastic but the dye didn't stick very well. I'm assuming that's because it's a thinner material. I hope to make pillowcases for my older kids but the spirals are so big that it will be hard to cut it up! Clearly not a dying pro: c66cd093 73351dbf 4ba66a53

Tie Dying Fun Pt. 1

A few weeks ago I snagged a tie dye kit from Target for $3 on clearance. It came with primary colours (red, yellow, and blue), 20 rubber bands, 4 pairs of gloves, and 3 squirt bottles (with the colours already inside - just add water). I waited until my kids were good and bored of all of our regular summer activities and invited them out to dye some prefolds and a big sheet of white fabric I had and intended to make pillowcases for the kids. Here is part 1 of our adventure. :)

After dying but before the unveiling: Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket I will post a part two hopefully tomorrow. I have since set, rinsed, and dried everything and it'll be ready for unveiling pictures!

Fitteds

I definitely have the fitted love, I'd say they make up at least half of our stash for the older cloth diapered babe. There is something about their squishiness and all of the different fabrics that they are made with that make them so fun and functional.

The bulk of both the newborn fitted stash is good.mamas. I've definitely eased up off of my good.mama  obsession but it's hard to resist all of those awesome diapers!

Here is a picture of our fitteds drawer. You can see a list of the brands that we have of fitteds here.

Here are pictures of my two most favourite newborn gender neutral good.mamas. Succulent is the stripe and is easily one of the most beauiful knit stripes I've ever laid my eyes on. We have a big diaper, a full size blanket, and some fabric too! The puppy prints is called Magical Puppy Tracks and we have a one size diaper in this as well. It's such a beautiful batik!

I also have a handful of fitteds that I've made from various fabrics. I really love making diapers but having 3 kids underfoot all the time makes it a tad difficult to get more things whipped up (this is why I knit a lot, easier for me to set it down than packing away a sewing machine!) The ones with whales are a really soft cotton that I made using the Baa Baa Baby pattern. The pac man and bumble bee diapers were made using woven fabrics for the outside and cotton velour for the inside. I used a Muttaqin and a good.mama as the templates.
